Job Title: Website and Social Media Manager

Job Overview:

Our Ethiopian community is looking for an experienced Website and Social Media Manager to design, develop, and maintain our online presence. The ideal candidate must have proven expertise in WordPress website development, including multilingual website functionality, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media management. They will ensure our website and social media platforms effectively engage users, enhance communication, and represent our community’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Website Development & Maintenance:

  • Design and develop a responsive and user-friendly WordPress website tailored to the needs of our community.
  • Implement and manage multilingual capabilities to support multiple languages, ensuring a seamless experience for diverse users.
  • Optimize website performance, speed, and security.
  • Maintain and update the website regularly with relevant content.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Apply SEO best practices to improve search engine visibility.

Multilingual & Localization:

  • Develop and maintain multilingual content, ensuring translations align with community standards and cultural relevance.
  • Implement tools like WPML, Polylang, or other multilingual plugins for WordPress.
  • Ensure user-friendly navigation and proper language switching functionality.

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Create engaging, multilingual content to promote community events, news, and initiatives.
  • Manage social media engagement, respond to inquiries, and build an online community.
  • Monitor and analyze social media metrics, providing insights for improvement.

Email & File Management:

  • Set up and manage user email accounts and mailing lists.
  • Maintain a secure database of user files and community records.
  • Ensure seamless integration of email communication with the website.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Track website and social media performance using tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and SEO tools.
  • Provide monthly reports with recommendations to improve engagement, visibility, and user experience.

Community Collaboration:

  • Work closely with community leaders and members to align the digital strategy with community goals.
  • Provide training or guidance to team members or volunteers on basic website and social media tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in WordPress website design, including multilingual website development.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, website analytics, and performance optimization.
  • Experience in social media management with a portfolio of successful campaigns.
  • Familiarity with email management tools and file-sharing platforms.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with WPML, Polylang, or other multilingual website plugins.
  • Graphic design experience with tools like Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
  • Experience working with non-profits or community organizations.
  • Knowledge of Amharic or other Ethiopian languages is a plus but not required.
